What is the minimum driver age?
Can I add a second driver?
Yes. One additional driver is included free of charge, subject to the same age and licence requirements as the main driver. The additional driver must be named in the rental agreement.
Are baby and booster seats free?
Yes. Baby and booster seats are provided free of charge on request, subject to availability. Please add them during booking.
Will I receive the exact vehicle shown?
Bookings are confirmed by vehicle category. A specific model may be supplied when available; otherwise, a similar vehicle in the reserved category may be provided. The vehicle condition is recorded at collection.
What is the fuel policy?
The vehicle must be returned with the same amount of fuel it had when collected. Any fuel difference or related charge is handled according to the signed rental agreement.
Can I extend the rental period?
Contact CARIO at least 24 hours before the scheduled end of the rental. An extension is subject to availability and is valid only after written authorisation. Returning late without approval may lead to additional charges.
During Your Rental
What should I do after an accident or damage?
Stop safely and contact CARIO immediately. Do not leave the incident unreported. Follow the instructions given, ensure the incident is properly recorded, and provide all requested information.
What should I do if the vehicle develops a problem?
Stop in a safe place and contact CARIO immediately using the telephone details in your booking or rental agreement. Follow the instructions provided and do not arrange unauthorised repairs.
What happens if a vehicle key is lost or damaged?
Loss or damage of a vehicle key is charged according to the vehicle, normally from €150 to €500, plus any necessary reprogramming, transport or related costs.
Can a special-cleaning charge apply?
Yes. If the vehicle is returned in a condition that requires special cleaning, including excessive sand, animal hair or similar contamination, a €50 charge may apply under the signed rental agreement.
Driving in Rhodes
Is renting a car worthwhile in Rhodes?
Yes. A rental car gives you the flexibility to visit beaches, villages and archaeological sites on your own schedule, especially when travelling beyond the main bus routes. Choose the vehicle category that suits your group and review the booking conditions before confirming.
Is driving in Rhodes easy?
Driving in Rhodes is generally straightforward, but roads can become narrow in villages and busy in summer. Follow local speed limits, allow extra time near popular beaches and Lindos, and park only where permitted.
Can I take the rental car to another island?
No. Ferrying the vehicle away from Rhodes or driving it outside Greece is not permitted under the rental agreement. Please contact CARIO before booking if your itinerary includes another island.
